1st Established in East Melbourne & Bairnsdale in the 1930s.

Our founders were well-respected, resourceful lawyers who quickly made a name for our practice.

Nanna Frances Wilckens was the founding partner. She graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1931 and a Bachelor of Laws degree in 1933. She was the 13th woman admitted as a Barrister & Solicitor in Victoria.

Alice Mary Roche partnered with Nanna in 1955. She also graduated from the University of Melbourne, with a Master of Arts degree in 1935 and later, with a Bachelor of Laws degree in 1951. Ms Roche was admitted as a Barrister & Solicitor upon the motion of Mr E H Hudson QC on 3 March 1952.
